NHS Blood and Transplant WEX

NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) offers an annual science-based work experience programme at some centres. It is co-ordinated by our Scientific and Clinical Training team. We are delighted to offer in-person work experience in 2023.

The programme is for students aged 14-18 years (Years 10-13) who are interested in scientific or laboratory careers. In 2023, we are offering programmes as below:

  • Bristol (Filton) 03 – 07 July
  • Bristol (Filton) 10 – 14 July

We are only offering programmes at these centres and there are no opportunities at other sites in 2023.

Successful applicants can expect:

  • to learn about the different departments that support our life saving work and how we support the wider NHS
  • to meet colleagues in a variety of scientific and caring roles within our organisation include nursing and donor/patient care positions
  • a hands on practical in our on-site training lab
  • an advice session to learn about careers in science, medicine and/or nursing.

We are not able to provide feedback on the progress of individual applications. Therefore, if you have not received an offer of a place by Friday 28 April, unfortunately your application was not successful.
